Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
With the hot weather looking to continue for the rest of the week, each family has been provided with a free sun lotion today, in order to STAY SAFE IN THE SUN.
Please ensure your child has an application of a high factor sun screen before they come to school, everyday. Please ensure your child also has a sun hat and water bottle in school.
Thank you
On Saturday 27th June, Isaac, Lucas, Emily V, Ella, Leah G, Ronnie B, Harry, Eleanor and Morgan represented Walesby C of E Primary School at Retford Swimming Gala. Competing against 5 other local schools, all of our children took the competition in their stride; supporting one another, shouting words of encouragement and doing their very best in the pool. Some children even competed in races above their age group, swimming 50m opposed to 25m.
After one very fast hour of races, the points were in...
In third place WALESBY! WOW!
Well done Walesby, we are exceptionally proud of your swimming talent and sportsmanship.
A big thank you to all the children and parents who gave up their free time to compete. We are very grateful for your support.
On Tuesday 10th February, Walesby will be joining the rest of the world by helping to make the internet a safer place on Internation Safer Internet Day 2015. This year's theme is 'let's create a better internet together.' As well as doing activities in school, we will be haviung a Parent's Meeting in school on Monday 9th February 2015 at 6pm. Visit the Useful Links page on the Parents section of our website to find links to other websites about keeping safe on the internet.
Today we visited Egmanton Christmas Tree Farm to choose our Christmas Tree. We quickly gathered our measuring sticks and went off in search of the best tree ever. Some were too big, some were too small, then we found the 'one' that was just right! We attached our tag to the top and then Gill went to pay for the tree for us, on behalf of the FOWS. Thank you Friends of Walesby School. We are very excited. We can't wait for the tree to be delivered.
This evening, after many years as valued members of the Friends of Walesby School (F.O.W.S), Mrs Michelle Thorpe and Mrs Cheryl Smith have sadly decided to step down from the team.
Over the years, they have been instrumental in organising many Christmas fairs, Easter egg hunts, games nights, discos and other exciting fundraising events. They have baked, shopped, bartered, wrapped, cleaned, tidied, and most importantly, impacted on all of our children's lives; raising much needed funds to provide the ‘ fun extras’ that make learning more interesting and exciting.
A huge 'Thank You' to Michelle and Cheryl. We are most grateful for your time and commitment to Walesby. Take care. We will miss you.
Well done to all the children who received a certificate and badge for 100% attendance and to those children who received a certificate for achieving 96% and above for Autumn 1.
We are very proud of you. Keep it up.
Remember, every half term is a new half term, where you too could achieve 100%. Good luck.
Walesby School Council, alongside our Head Boy and Head Girl represented Walesby C of E Primary School today at the Ollerton Remembrance Sunday Service. Poppy wreaths and crosses were placed at the war memorial as the names of the brave were read out.
Walesby Remembers.
Thank you.
